Elon Musk now owns Twitter. This comes after the company accepted his bid for $54.20 a share. The total amount of acquisition was $44B in cash. Upon the news, the price of DogeCoin, Elon’s favorite meme cryptocurrency, shot up by over 30%. Twitter stocks trading is halted pending the announcement by the company.
Bored Ape Instagram Account Hacked
Bored Ape Yacht Club's official Instagram account got hacked on Monday, losing millions in stolen NFTs. The scammers posted a phishing link promoting a Land Airdrop. When users connected their wallets and confirmed transactions, their NFTs were stolen. BAYC responded by halting minting for the day and warned its community not to “mint anything, click links, or link (their) wallet to anything."
Meta Plans to Open a Physical Store in California
Meta Platforms Inc, formerly known as Facebook, plans to open a physical metaverse store on the 9th of May.
“Meta Store will be a retail space to discover Portal, Ray-Ban Stories, and Quest 2 and try them out in person — in Burlingame, California,” Meta announced in their press release on Monday.
